Muutoksia - Changes

Ihanaa, joulukuu!

Ihanaa joulukuuta kaikille!

Finally, it's December! This year I have been especially excited about it because I know that after three years in Norway, I'm spending this Christmas at home in Finland. It's also the first time my boyfriend gets to enjoy Finnish Christmas so it will be exciting in many ways.

But before really enjoying Christmas, there is still a lot to do. And also one major change about this blog that I finally have chosen to do: from now on my blog will only be in English (except few sentences in Finnish here and there).

I have thought of doing this for some time now but I have felt a little bit sad and emotional to "let go" of my beautiful native language. But writing a bilingual blog is honestly quite a lot of work and I don't have time for it anymore.  And since most of my visitors don't understand Finnish, it's just fair to write mainly in English.

So if you already read my blog in English, I hope you continue doing that. I am really glad you have found your way here.

    1. They are :). We don't have a Christmas tree this year so they will have to go somewhere else.

  2. I absolutely love that you write in Finnish! It’s what makes your blog so special.
I can’t understand it but there’s something about another language on a blog which fascinates me! I’m learning Korean and the moment I become fluent, I want to do the same!

    1. Thank you Kelly :)!! Korean sounds so interesting language to learn! If I had more time I would definitely start to learn new languages. Or maybe we can teach each other some basics? :)

  3. I am also very keen on Christmas! This is very inresting how you are celebrating Christmas in Finland and in Norway. I know about Swedish customs a little, because I have friends there. I remember that they were travelling by the Baltic Sea, to Germany and back in Christmas. Your language looks awesome, while I see the text, f. ex" joulukuu" , this is fabulous! I know Polish is also amazing for foreigners, ha ha! I know what you are talking about, because I try to blog in 3 languages and this is very bothering. ..

    2. Great idea, Jenni! Maybe I will make a post about Polish traditions, too... Here every region has its own traditions and habits, so it is very rich and long topic, ha ha :)

    3. Oh, then you definitely have to tell us some details about the Polish traditions (if you have time to write about them all, heh). That would be an interesting post :)!

  4. I love that your blog is Finnish! I actually just hit translate on my Google page and it produced a good translation before I got further to the end and realized you had a translation. I thought that was pretty cool...I hope you have a wonderful Christmas! :)

    1. Oh, nice to know that Google translate works :)! Sometimes it's just jibberish. But Finnish will be a part of this blog also in the future, just slightly smaller and English becoming the main language.
Lovely December and Christmas to you too :)!
